Rules of entry


The awards are open to journalists, including freelancers, from online, newswire, trade, and major newspaper and magazine publications that are based or have a bureau in the Asia Pacific.


  1. The Entry Form below applies to all English award categories. All sections must be completed.
  2. Please submit a separate entry for each category entered.
  3. For each category entered, please submit a separate entry with two articles published between 1st September 2016 and 31st August 2017. There is no set word limit.
  4. Please note that the same articles cannot be submitted in multiple categories or languages.

For the English categories, all articles should be submitted in English. Articles originally published in other languages must be translated into English of a standard which best reflects the original article.

Submissions for this award should include articles covering pensions developments in the Asia Pacific, institutional investment management or the region’s pension policy developments. Journalists will be awarded for demonstrating an all-round understanding of pensions issues in the Asia Pacific via news stories and / or feature length articles. Entries will be judged on style, content, timeliness and accuracy of reporting. Entrants must submit two articles.


Submissions for this award should include articles covering investment issues within institutional fund management, financial markets or economic research. Journalists will be awarded for demonstrating an all-round understanding of investment issues in Asia Pacific via news stories and / or feature length articles. Entries will be judged on style, content, timeliness and accuracy of reporting. Entrants must submit two articles.


Submissions for this award should include two articles covering any services and technology trends and innovation relating to custody, cash management, securities lending, settlement and safekeeping services, derivatives servicing and collateral management, treasury services, risk management, fund accounting, fund administration and shareholder recordkeeping. Entries will be judged on style, content, timeliness and accuracy of reporting. Entrants must submit two articles.


Submissions for this award should include articles covering the latest developments and issues surrounding the use of new technology and innovation in the delivery of financial services, including but not limited to robo-advice, blockchain, big data, machine learning, artificial intelligence, online lending, P2P lending, crowdfunding, mobile banking, digital wallets, remittances, O2O, mobile point of sale, FinTech ecosystems and FinTech deals. Entries will be judged on style, content, timeliness and accuracy of reporting. Entrants must submit two articles.


Submissions for this award should include articles specifically covering the alternative asset class: real estate, hedge funds and/or private equity. Journalists will be awarded for demonstrating an understanding of how Asian institutional investors are using alternatives, and the servicing and regulatory issues surrounding the asset class via news stories and/or feature length articles. Entries will be judged on style, content, timeliness and accuracy of reporting. Entrants must submit two articles.


Submission for this award should include two articles specifically covering financial regulatory issues or policy developments within institutional investment.


Submissions for this award should include two articles demonstrating depth of understanding of institutional issues in a variety of styles. This is for journalists who have spent less than two years working in the financial journalism industry. Entrants must submit a news story and a feature.

Submissions for this award should be made by editors/ senior reporters and include two leader/comment pieces that demonstrate original, timely and interesting thought on key institutional issues.
